Thistutorial guides you through the Autodesk ReCap Photo photogrammetry software to create 3D objects that can be used with Dynamics 365 Guides. The software can be used for mixed-reality components included in apps created with Microsoft Power Apps.

This tutorial is created only for informational purposes, to show how ReCap Photo works with Dynamics 365 Guides and Power Apps. Microsoft Corporation isn't affiliated with, isn't a partner of, and doesn't endorse or sponsor Autodesk or any of its products.

Select anywhere on the page that appears, according to the prompt, and then add the photos that you want to use to create your 3D object. After you finish importing the photos, select Create.

On the Create Project page, enter a name for your project, and then select Start to process your photos. Processing can take some time, depending on the number of photos that you added and the speed of your internet connection.

After your 3D object has been processed, it appears in the My Cloud Drive section of the dashboard. Select the Download this project from the cloud (down arrow) button to download your 3D object.

Several tools are available on the left side and at the bottom of the editor page. You can use these tools to clean up your 3D object. Experiment with these tools to clean up the parts of your 3D object that you don't want to keep. This tutorial shows how to remove the floor from the model.

Select the Slice tool to remove the rest of the floor. This tool creates a slicing plane that you can use to cut away geometry below a specific point. The following settings are available in the Slice dialog box:

Unless precise geometry is very important, don't select the Best geometry check box, because it will remove your textures. The textures that are produced through photogrammetry add significant detail to the 3D object.

Blender is a free, open-source 3D creation suite. It supports the whole 3D pipeline: modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, and video editing and game creation.

I've been playing with Recap and Recap Photo on and off for a few months and am subscribed with monthly renewals. I've been away from the program for a bit and upon picking it back up Recap seems to acknowledge that I'm subscribed but Recap Photo does not and keeps pointing me toward starting a subscription. Going through the motions of subscribing again and the process does see that I've already paying for one seat. Any suggestions on how to proceed to straighten this out?

Also, if you are using ReCap Photo 2024 after you sign in to ReCap Pro 2024, you will need to click on the "Unsubscribed" button at the top right in ReCap Photo to get subscribed. This is a UI regression introduced in FY24 and we will fix it.

@barmanr solved this via PM.

My last use of Recap Photo was at the tail end of the Cloud Credit era and when I picked up the software again I did not yet have Flex Tokens assigned to my account, therefore not technically subscribed to Recap Photo.

Guys, I believe there is a bug in the display that shows "unsubscribed" when the user does not have any tokens to do photo processing. If you have or get assigned some tokens, then that "unsubscribed" should go away. The team is working on making the display clearer in the next update but you still need tokens for photo processing.

Hello, i just wanna say that I don't really understand the subscription thing. I have the same problem as everyone here but, even if i paid $50 a mounth i must pay another $300 for tokens to use the subscription? Help me here because i don't understand. Thank you.

We released hotfixes for all versions of ReCap Photo on 11 Oct, 23 to fix this Unsubscribed issue. You can find the hotfixes under Updates in manage.autodesk.com or apply them via the Autodesk Access Desktop application. Release Notes are here: =release_note_archive

Which version of ReCap Photo is this based on the About box? We released hotfixes to fix the Unsubscribed issue for no token accounts recently. Also, this could be an EDU-related case. Does ReCap Photo show as Educational at the top right?

On the top it does not say educational like it should, it says unsubscribed, but in browser on the educational page, it says they're on educational account, they're using revit and autocad educational without issues.

The Hotfixes are service packs, not download and install like a full installer. There are 2 ways to go about it, either use Autodesk Access to install the service pack which will show up automatically depending on the version installed, or go to manage.autodesk.com and under Products and Updates, look for the latest hotfix for ReCap Photo.

Hi I have the same problem. I subscribe to Autodesk Recap Pro to use the photo software but the **** thing keeep asking me to subscribe. I jhave purchased teh subsribtion but still no ascess. The suppor t team dont help me att all they just puch me to this webpage wher it looks like we are stuck.

Hi i just started my first project on recap desktop as the online version is not an option anymore.

I have a scan of 276 photos, and read during the install that the new recap permit the creation with up to 1000 images instead of 250. Neat!

Altough now that i loaded my pics, i have a message that say limited to 100 images. Didnt found a setting to modify that.

How can i make a project with more than 100 photos with recap photo desktop?
