Nestled just off to the left of the City Island Bridge as you enter the Island the Lobster House offers much more than fabulous lobster dishes. You know, i really thought you were joking about gong to Orchard. You beat me to a post on city island too, lol. My kids have been dying to go but wasn't sure on which restaurant to go to. Thanks for a great post!
I was stationed at the Nike Base on Hart Island, as short ferry ride to city island on the prison ferry from 1955 to 1958. Many fond memories of City Island, I have never been back but plan to do so later this year. In the 50's it was pretty isolated, not the rrasturants like in the photos, but lots of very pretty girls.
A couple of days ago another city building game from Sparkling Society was released at Google Play and finally I can share some images with you. During the period of 3 months me and my team created over 150 isometric buildings, however lots of designs are redesigned versions of those from the previous game(City Island Airport).
For the geographically-challenged (like me): City Island is a tiny island off the east coast of the Bronx, connected by a century-old bridge to the mainland. About 4/10ths of a square mile in area, it has under 5,000 residents.

Casada explained that since the 1890s, a sawmill has been located immediately across the narrow channel separating the island from the town. Early on, the mill owners purchased land for logging in areas like Deep Creek and Kirkland Creek so that logs could be floated down the Tuckasegee to the sawmill.
