A scale converter is a tool that lets you convert measurements from one scale to another. You can input one inch to one mile and vice versa. Once you have done this, the scale converter will provide you with a conversion table. You can also find out the ratio between different scales, or how long a certain object is in real life. The converter works with all types of measurements, including imperial and metric.
Using a scale converter is simple and can be used for any project. The main step in scaling an object is to find the scale factor, which is the ratio between the real size and the scaled one. This factor can be a fraction, ratio, percentage, or decimal. Depending on the type of scale used, the conversion will increase or decrease the object's size.
A linear scale shows dimensions in a graphical manner and is intuitive to use. You can easily put a scale from point A to point B. It is also convenient for reprinting maps since you will not have to do calculations. For example, a map that uses a linear scale will have the distance between major ticks at one centimeters or one kilometer in real life.
A map scale calculator can help you to measure distances on a map by providing you with the scale and the distance in real units. You can also use this calculator to convert from one scale to another. For example, 10 cm on a map corresponds to four meters in reality. You can also use this calculator to determine the scale of a building.
The scale converter is an useful tool for model railroaders, because it helps you translate the size of your model to the size of the real world. With its help, you can easily convert your model to the correct size for your railroad layout. It even allows you to convert fractions of an inch to the correct scale. This tool will help you with converting between metric and imperial measurements.
A scale converter will also let you change the scale factor in your drawing. It is helpful for you to compare different scales, such as HO scale to N scale. For example, you can compare the dimensions of a 5-cm long object to a 100-cm long object. When converting from one scale to another, you should multiply the number by the scale factor. Similarly, if you are converting a volume from an inch to an inch, you should multiply the number by the number of cm.
In order to get the right scale conversion, you need to enter the scale in a box marked "Scale". Once you've entered the number of inches or centimeters, you can then choose a metric scale and select a unit. You can recalculate by pressing the 'inch' or 'cm' output buttons.
Another useful tool to find a scale converter is a scale ruler. These tools make it easier to convert any size measurement you want to. These tools are especially useful for those who need to present their drawing at a particular scale. They also allow you to switch scales as you need.
Door actual width at scale 1:50On the building plan the width of the front door is 18.6 mm.
and the scale of the plan is 1:50,
what is the actual width of that door ?
First, we convert the unit from millimeter to centimeter.
18.6 mm = 18.8 10 = 1.86 cm
Then, convert by scaling
1.86 cm 50 1 = 93 cm
So the actual width of door is 93 cm
Scale is the ratio that defines the relation between the actual figure and its model. It is used in maps to represent the actual figures in smaller units. For example, a scale of 1:5 means 1 on the map represents the size of 5 in the real world. The scale of a map is the ratio of a distance on the map to the corresponding distance on the ground.

How do I set the default scale for the bc calculator? Each time I run bc I want scale=2 to be the default, I want to limit all calculations to 2 decimal places. I made a file in my home dir called .bc and inside it I put scale=2 on the first line followed by a carriage return.
As muru said, the scale of the result is the maximum scale of the expression involved. but if you want to set the scale for division (want to set the truncation level), place a file .bc in your home (ex. /home/yourid/.bc) and edit it to contain (the file name can be anything)
Regarding the pay rates this calculator produces for grades GS-1 through GS-4 for locations within the United States, please be aware that a table 001M special rate applies in place of any corresponding locality rate or other applicable special rate that is lower than the table 001M special rate.
This calculator provides body mass index (BMI) and the corresponding BMI weight status category for adults 20 years and older. For children and teens, 2 through 19 years, use the BMI Calculator for Children and Teens.
Fill in the resolution you have and it will show all the scales that won't result in half pixels in a list.

Since June 1, 1950, a four-point grading scale has been in effect. Beginning with the Fall 2016 semester, a four-point grading scale with plus and minus grades has been in effect for all students. Computations** are as follows:
Please note: The calculator tool below is designed as a tool to help students estimate a future GPA (or the number of hours or minimum grades necessary to achieve a desired GPA). In some cases, rounding variances may occur; therefore, the GPA estimations should not be considered students' official GPA at Drake University or at any other institution.
High schools often report GPA (grade point average) on a 4.0 scale. The top grade is an A, which equals 4.0. You calculate your overall GPA by averaging the scores of all your classes. This is a common scale used at most colleges, and many high schools also use it.
Keep in mind that your high school reports your GPA to your prospective colleges. The GPA listed on your high school transcript might not be what is used by college admissions, since there is a lot of variation in high school grading scales, additional points added for honors, advanced, AP, IB courses.
You can calculate scale from a drawing by measuring what length on the drawing corresponds to what length on the actual object. For example, if 1 inch on the drawing equals 3 inches on the actual object, then the scale is 1:3.
An example of a scale factor is the ratio used on a model airplane to describe how much bigger the actual airplane is than the model. If the actual airplane is ten times bigger than the model, then the scale factor is 1:10.
To scale a measurement down to a smaller value, for instance, when making a blueprint, simply divide the real measurement by the scale factor. The scale factor is commonly expressed as 1:n or 1/n, where n is the factor.
To convert a smaller, scaled measurement up to the actual measurement, simply multiply the scaled measurement by the scale factor. For example, if the scale factor is 1:8 and the scaled length is 4, multiply 4 8 = 32 to convert it to the larger actual size.
There are also engineering rules that are primarily used in civil engineering to scale measurements for roadways and land development. For example, when creating detail drawings, a scale of 1:10 is often used, and when creating working plans, scales of 1:20 or 1:40 are the preferred choices.
A scale factor is a ratio of two corresponding measurements or lengths. You can use the factor to increase or decrease the dimensions of a geometric shape, drawing, or model to different sizes. You can find the scale factor in a few easy steps.
Architectural scales often relate a measurement, in feet, of a building to inches on a drawing. You can quickly find the scale factor for an architectural scale by inverting the fraction, then multiplying it by 12 (inches/foot).
Engineering scales are represented in the same units for both the drawing and the actual measurement. For example, if you have a ratio of inches on a drawing to feet in reality, you can quickly find the scale factor for an engineering, or civic, scale by multiplying the feet portion by 12 (inches/foot).
This international GPA calculator is intended to help you calculate the United States Grade Point Average (GPA) based on grades or points from almost any country in the world. The U.S. GPA is calculated on a 4.0 scale.
The scale above is the most common GPA conversion scale used by high schools and universities in the United States. Some schools use .5 steps. For example, grades A- or B+ are converted to 3.5, but grade AB is more accurate in this case (and is used in Scholaro GPA). A+ is sometimes converted to 4.3 (or 4.33) points, but many universities do not have an A+.
Results: The scale was reliable and showed some evidence of unidimensionality. Estimated proportion of participants with high dental anxiety (cut-off score = 19) was 11.6%. Percentiles and confidence intervals were presented and can be estimated for individual patients across various age ranges and gender using an on-line tool.
