Jinxland guides you on a journey of soulful rhythms and bewitching melodies. With psalms of the profane, we sing for the lost, the fearless, and the followers of the forbidden. Jinxland brings you the queer magic and witchy grooves the world needs. Hear our new single on all streaming platforms and our Bandcamp page https://jinxland.bandcamp.com/track/whiskey-demon

Sorcerers' Soiree is a summoning of music, dance, poetry, divination, fashion, witchy wares and interactive art. This is a chance to assemble in person, to share space and share joy. Bring your body, your spirit, and your voice, the magic only happens when we're together. Come ready to enchant and reveal your finest self.

We gather in this time when the veil between worlds is thin. We revel, resist, and rise. The circle is open. The music begins. Join us in Jinxland.

Tickets start at $20, but we kindly request that if you can afford to pay more that you choose one of our other ticketing tiers ($25 or $30). It takes many people and much work to put on an event like this so any additional funds you can help with are greatly appreciated!

Ofrenda - The Giving Altar

We're also raising money for Beyond Bond Boston so bring cash for our Giving Altar!

Halloween and Dia de los Muertos is a time when the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest. Traditionally a time to mourn, to celebrate, and to commune with the ancestors, many cultures build altars to honor the beloved dead. Join us at The Giving Altar to participate in placing flowers, candles, candy, and other offerings on the altar, write petitions or messages, or participate in our community wishing bowl. There will be a small suggested donation for each action available at the altar, and the money will go directly to The Beyond Bond and Legal Defense Fund. You can learn more about their mission here: https://www.beyondbondboston.org/bondoverview

In addition to Jinxland you also get;

More Music!

Sat Nov 1 - Ruby Grove https://rubygrovemusic.com/

Boston-based band Ruby Grove is an indie alternative musical project rooted in rock, trip-hop and neo-soul grooves, informed by lofi hip-hop, electronica, rock, and world music (especially middle eastern music). Ruby Grove’s core driving force is to soothe anxious hearts and minds during the post-pandemic era, create an alternately funky, soulful, and mystical atmosphere, and aim for the “formation of new genres through multi-genre synthesis madness”, which is reflected in the band’s diverse sonic palette and focuses.

Sat Nov 1 - The Punk Monk https://www.instagram.com/the.punkmonk/

As the driving force behind local improv rockers, Muzzins, The Punk Monk has brought their powerful energy to local stages. Now you can experience their solo performance that combines the euphoria of a spiritual awakening with pulsating dance beats. They masterfully loop and layer their voice and instruments as they improvise sets that elevate consciousness and will shake your ass.

Sun Nov 2 - Eight Foot Manchild https://eightfootmanchild.bandcamp.com/

The world's first and therefore best DOOMBRASS band - crushing riffs and filthy, funky horns. Eight Foot Manchild plays groove-heavy, fuzzed-out tunes with stoner metal, funk, prog, and (occasional) hip hop influences, all with the help of an electrified horn section. Sporadically active since 2005, they are recently reformed and rededicated, writing songs inspired by everything from surrealism to Godzilla movies.

Sun Nov 2 - Your Friends in Hell https://yourfriendsinhell.bandcamp.com/

Your Friends in Hell is a spooky trio out of Boston. They make music about ghosts and stuff. They are haunted, heartfelt, and loud as hell. Shotgun Botsch (vocals/guitar), Mia Culpa (accordion) and Crab Calloway (bass)

Holy Crow is Art, Design, and Evidence of Magic. A multidisciplinary artist and fortune-teller, they are best known for their magical and macabre handmade jewelry. They curate vintage and antique treasures resonant with their passion for natural science, occult history, gender liberation, hauntology, and vintage fashion. After working as The Mystic in Residence of the New York Poetry Society and doing cabaret-style tarot and palm readings for over a decade, they are set to produce the Boston Chapter of The Poetry Brothel and open their first store—The Hearth and Hedgerow, a sanctuary for art, relics, and magic—in 2025

More Fashion!

Lexie Hofer https://www.somervilleopenstudios.org/web/artists/artist_profile/2209

Lexie is a vintage focused, clown Couturier who works solely with vintage fabrics of the psychedelic persuasion. After much of her childhood was spent playing dress up in her mother’s vintage clothing, Lexie developed an undying love for the history of garments and the stories they tell. She also grew up as an odd size for most produced clothing wearing mostly pants that looked like she was waiting for the flood and tops with sleeves so short they looked as if she borrowed from a younger sibling’s closet. This pet peeve led her to be the self-taught sewing monster that she is today; making custom clothes for all body types and genders. The making of ready-to-wear eventually led to a fervor for avant garde looks such as her cult classic, the Clown Gown. She also owns a 60’s and 70’s vintage clothing store called Lexie Butterfly Vintage (lexiebutterflyvintage.com) and is the owner/curato r of the vintage and original art pop-up called Chartreuse Microbus Collective at 25 White St. Cambridge inside Cafe Zing, which will be open Wed-Sun 11am-7pm until Xmas!

Sarah Morrison http://tashari.org/dresses/

Sarah first developed her love for costuming in high school, and began making occasional ballgowns after college. Over the years they slowly developed interactive performance elements. Her outfits help her be the whimsy she wants to see in the world, and now she's gone full cryptid with her most recent costume on stilts. (A ballgown on stilts will clearly have to happen sometime in her future.). Sarah is primarily a fantasy illustrator and portrait painter who finds time to sew when she can. You can see her art at sarahmorrisonillustration.com and her costuming forays at her tashari.org hub.
