There are two songwriters shows that you should check out this week: June 4 and June 7. Read on!
1) Songwriters in the Round at Arts at the Armory is bringing in another bumper crop of new-to-you performers on Wednesday, June 4. Tom Smith writes songs that sound like they have always been there - a true folksinger. Kevin So has an unparalleled versatility: he’s a sideman for blues legend Keb’ Mo’, writes blues and soul music, and also has a tribute project to Taiwanese great Teresa Teng. Jud Caswell is coming down from Maine to play his music that works to heal that great divide in the American soul. And our friend Mark Stepakoff is back as host to play his folksy, humorous, and poignant compositions for you.
2) Somerville Songwriter Sessions, hosted by Sam Bayer, goes up Saturday, June 7. This show has a different format, with longer sets for the songwriters so we can lead you on more of a journey. I’m proud to be singing alongside Sam and Rupert Wates. This event is also at Arts in the Armory. I’m not sure what songs I’ll be singing but I know I need to bring my “A” game! They interviewed me for this show. Click here for more info.
