Hi there:

All crafty and theatre-focused artists - and anyone who's interested in an evening of play - are invited to attend and participate in Crafting: The Weïrd Sisters on Saturday, September 13, 5:00-8:00 pm  at the Somerville Community Growing Center!

A harvest evening of nature-based magic and mystery, creating an embodied performance piece centering Shakespeare's classic "Macbeth"! We begin by conjuring up a witchy charm. After that, we will create a performance piece for ourselves using devised methods of theatre. No experience required, just openness to an evening of play! We encourage you to come in your best witch or warlock attire (also not required). Refreshments will be provided. By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes! Facilitated by Neve Pires.

Neve Pires (she/her) is a storyteller, artist and change-maker hailing from Central and Eastern Massachusetts. She grew up absolutely enraptured by the theatre, and has over 15 years of various theatrical experience- including but not limited to- acting, directing, playwriting, and makeup design/execution. She is currently. studying at Lesley University for her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy and Drama Therapy, where she hopes to combine her passion for the arts with her hope for healing and change at the individual and societal/systemic level.

RSVPs encouraged but not required. More info and downloadable flyer on the Growing Center's website.

Sponsored by the Urban Pastorals project and supported by a Public Humanities/Community Engagement Grant from the Mandel Center for the Humanities at Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts.
