Join us this Thursday, September 4, for Popcorn Comedy: an intimate standup comedy experience in the Somerville Theatre's 30-seat microcinema! Our carefully curated lineup of comedians has been featured on Amazon Prime, The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, The Second City, Don't Tell Comedy, and the New York Comedy Festival. (Watch a trailer!)

This month's headliner is the hilarious Carolyn Plummer. Known for her razor-sharp wit and deadpan delivery, Carolyn is a comedy veteran with 20+ years in stand-up. She has performed at Denis Leary’s Comics Come Home at TD Garden, sharing the stage with John Mulaney, Jimmy Fallon, Sam Jay, and Roy Wood, Jr. Carolyn has also been featured in the Boston Comedy Festival, Burbank Comedy Festival, and Women in Comedy Festival and is a regular at New England's best clubs and casinos. Whether performing for biker dudes or nuns, she delivers every time with her hilarious, unapologetic, and brutally honest comedy.
  • Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 7:30pm.
  • Come early to watch classic cartoons on the big screen.
  • Grab candy, popcorn, and fountain drinks at the theater's snack bar or bring your own!
  • Outside food and drink are allowed in the microcinema (aside from alcohol).
  • Beer and wine are available in the lobby.
Opened in 1914, the historic Somerville Theatre is conveniently located right next to the Davis Square T stop on the Red Line. Parking is available nearby. The microcinema is located in the basement of the theater. We can't wait to get things popping at the show!
