It's been 17 years since Dobet Gnahoré has graced a stage in the Boston area. Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience Dobet and her three musicians live on stage in Somerville tonight!

Doors at 7pm and show starting at 8pm with an opening set by Somerville-based Malian musician Boubacar Diabate of SambaLolo. Tickets are available online until 7pm and will also be available at the door. https://the-center-for-arts-at-the-armory.ticketleap.com/dobet-gnahore/

This performance is a pick by The Boston Globe and The Arts Fuse, and is being supported by a grant from New England Foundation for the Arts.

As an artist who always gives thrilling live performances, Gnahoré, from Côte d'Ivoire, is a virtuosic singer, dancer, percussionist, and songwriter who has taken the modern Afropop sounds of her country in exciting new directions. Anyone who has seen Dobet Gnahoré perform knows that her performance talents lie in both music and dance. Dobet’s father Boni Gnahoré is a master percussionist and artist who co-founded the legendary pan-African performance ensemble and artistic collective Ki-Yi M’bock. Growing up in this creative setting was a utopian artistic experience for Dobet and a rigorous training ground that provided her with the skills in music, dance, theater, fashion and poetry that serve as her foundation to this day.

Don't miss this convergence of West African music in your own backyard!
