Autumn Volunteer Opportunities with SAC

As autumn approaches, we have lots of exciting opportunities to volunteer with SAC at our upcoming street festivals! 

Read below to learn more about our volunteer needs for September and October, and let me know if you’re interested in participating:

Gilman Square Arts and Music Festival

Saturday, Sep. 12 (weather date: Sunday, Sep. 13) at Edward L. Leathers Community Park

• Info table 12-2:30pm: let visitors know about SAC and lead a craft activity

• Info table 2:30-5pm: let visitors know about SAC and lead a craft activity

Fluff Festival

Saturday, Sep. 19 (weather date: Sunday, Sep. 20) in Union Square

• Info table 1-3pm: let visitors know about SAC and lead a craft activity

• Info table 3-5pm: let visitors know about SAC and lead a craft activity

Monster Mash

Sunday, Oct. 18 (weather date: Sunday, Oct. 25) in Union Square

Before the event, on your own time:

• Postering: Hang posters in Union, Gilman, Davis, Ball, East Somerville, and/or the Community Path

• Residential flyering: Place notices about road closures in people’s mailboxes around Union Square

Day-of support:

• Set-up 10:30am-12:30pm: Mark vendor spots, set up tables and chairs

• Vendor check in 11am-1pm: Check in and direct vendors and community organizations to their spots

• Info table 1-3pm: let visitors know about SAC and lead a craft activity

• Info table 3-5pm: let visitors know about SAC and lead a craft activity
