"Erasures: LA" by Gary Duehr
Pop-Up Exhibition at SOWA
Friday, October 3, 6-8 pm
460C Harrison Ave, Lower Level
Boston, MA 02118
SOWA Arts District
Please join me on Friday, October 3, from 6-8 pm for the reception of my "Erasures: LA" photos. The reception is part of First Fridays, when SOWA galleries host their openings. Parking is available for $10. The exhibition runs through October 31 and is available for viewing by appointment.
Taken from moving vehicles, these photographs capture glimpses of the urban cityscape streaming past: a patch of roof, some shrubbery, the smear of a high rise. In a way, the speed can be thought of as erasing the scenery, smudging its tones, blending together the land and sky. "Erasures" is less about what’s out there than what flies past the corner of the eye.
