Gathering of the Fairies at the Growing Center, 9/24! [Still need volunteers!]

The Growing Center is excited to share with the arts community our annual signature family-friendly event, the Gathering of the Fairies, which also offers fun volunteer opportunities for older children, teens, and adults. New this year, Music duo Receita de Samba presents a Portuguese/English bi-lingual performance of the Brazilian fairytale, “Why the Sea Moans." Please share with your networks and on social media!

WHAT: Gathering of the Fairies
WHEN: Saturday, September 24, 2:00 to 5:00 pm (Rain Date: Sunday, September 25)
WHERE: Somerville Community Growing Center, 22 Vinal Ave., Somerville, MA
HOW: This event is free and open to all ~ but is geared toward children ages 1-8
ADMISSION: Free, but donations are warmly appreciated!

The Growing Center’s signature fall children’s event, the Gathering of the Fairies, is a garden celebration for young children. Activities include building a fairy house out of all-natural materials, creating one’s own fairy wand, hearing fairy stories, face painting, raffle and fairy postcards. Donations are strongly encouraged to support the Growing Center and future events. A limited supply of fairy garden building materials will be available for making Fairy Houses.
