Idle Fest is back!
On February 28, Idle Hands Theatre Collective takes over Warehouse XI in Somerville with two shows at 2pm and 8pm, featuring brand-new performance by artists across music, drag, poetry, theatre, dance, opera, and more.
Idle Fest is built on speed, risk, and collaboration. Artists are grouped across disciplines and given just four days to make something new. The only rules: keep it under ten minutes and give it a beginning, middle, and end. Everything else is open. Most of what you’ll see was made in the week leading up to the show. It’s alive, surprising, and anything could happen.
But Idle Fest isn’t just about what’s on stage. It’s about being in the room together. With food by The Fox Den, a full bar on site, and a space designed for hanging out before, between, and after performances, Idle Fest is a place to spend time to talk, watch, return, and stay a while.
Alongside the fast-made group pieces, the festival also features solo performances and select pre-written work, including expanded pieces and new material still in development.
🎟 Pay-what-you-want admission (suggested starting price: $15)
