Intercambio: Winter 2026 Session - Applications Now Open!

Hello Somerville Community,

We are excited to announce that the application for the Winter 2026 session of the Intercambio Language and Culture Exchange Program is now open!

🗓️ Starting Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2026
📅 Ending Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2026
📍 Location: Connexion – 149 Broadway, Somerville, MA 02145

What is Intercambio?
Intercambio is a welcoming space where neighbors practice conversational language skills with native speakers, share cultures, and build friendships. Each session, participants spend half the time in one language and half in another—making everyone both a learner and a teacher.

What makes it special?

• 🌍 Cultural exchange: A true two-way learning experience.
• 🤝 Diverse community: Past participants have come from Mexico, Peru, Brazil, India, China, Haiti, Guatemala, Colombia, the U.S., and more.
• 🍲 Global Potluck: We wrap up with a joyful food celebration, tasting dishes from around the world.
• 🎨 Extra activities: Optional outings—museum visits, walking tours, food events, and more—make the experience even richer.

This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity, language, and culture in a supportive environment. Whether you're looking to practice English, share Spanish or Portuguese, or discover new cultures, Intercambio is the perfect space for learning and connection. Plus, we offer optional cultural activities such as museum visits, public art tours, and opportunities to participate in other amazing SAC events and programs, all of which further enrich the experience and help create new connections.

Who can apply?
If you have an intermediate or higher proficiency in a foreign language and are eager to practice conversation in a friendly environment, this program is for you!

This is a great program. I have 2  Spanish students from the Cambridge Senior Center that enrolled last year and enjoyed it very much.
