Casting for Now is Still Here: Climate Change Theatre Action 2026, in collaboration with Artists’ Theater of Boston

We are seeking an ensemble of six actors for an outdoor production of Now Is Still Here: Climate Change Theatre Action 2026 in Somerville, MA at the Community Growing Center.

A global festival of short plays engaging with climate change and promoting transformative climate justice, Climate Change Theatre Action invites audience members to imagine just futures and take action. 

Rehearsals will take place late April through late May, with production dates and rain dates as follows:

Friday 29 May, 6:30pm
Saturday 30 May, 6:30pm
Sunday, 31 May, 4pm

Rain dates: 6/4: 6:30pm, 6/56:30pm

Now Is Still Here is presented in collaboration with Artists’ Theater of Boston. We are an inclusive, ethical company committed to producing low-cost theater on topics of concern to our communities. Partially funded by a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, Now Is Still Here will be performed free of charge. 

We invite actors of all embodiments to apply. With a few exceptions indicated by the playwrights, performers may be of any gender, race, or age. Stipend: $500.00. 

Actors in this piece will be in a selection of scenes and monologues across the shorts plays, woven together into the full piece. Please send your headshot, resume, and record and send a monologue that best showcases your storytelling abilities by March 30th. Please also feel free to casually, briefly write about what draws you to this project, speaking to your interest in theater that engages with community, in climate justice, or anything else you think might relate to this project. Please send to artiststhea...@gmail.com
