Somerville flutist Peter H. Bloom, a founding member of The Henning Ensemble, invites you to the ensemble’s concert on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 7:00 pm, at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 60 Forest Park Rd, Woburn, MA 01801. The ensemble (Peter H. Bloom, flute and alto flute; Carol Epple, flute and piccolo; Greta Rosen, bassoon, Dan Zupan, bass clarinet; Karl Henning music director) will perform Charms and Memorials: Recent works by Karl Henning, Kevin Scott, and Robert Gross. Music by Karl Henning will include Charm’s Wound Up (inspired by the three weird sisters in Shakespeare’s MacBeth), Moose on the Loose (a nod to the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show), Nostalgia Ain’t What It Used to Be, Lamento por sorore sua (in memory of Kim Lillian), and Amorphous and Forward Looking, Peace! Also included in the program are Kevin Scott’s Min’khah: In Remembrance Shoshanna C. Winson, and Robert Gross’ Four’s the Charm (a piece composed around musical fourths).
