Salty Dog Day!

Join us for this fun filled family day as we celebrate the long, deep history of dogs and our maritime heritage.
The day will kick off with the Salty Dog Costume Parade. There will be prizes for:
Best Nautical Costume,
Best Dressed, and
Judges' Choice.
Some of the day's demonstrations and activities include:
- Newfoundlands doing water and carting demonstrations
(Do you recognize Abbey from our Facebook promotion???);
- Fit-n-Trim Dog Training will have dogs giving an agility demonstration.
You and your dog can give the course a try under the watchful eye of an instructor;
- Boston Snow Dogs will be giving a mushing demonstration
(Did you know that there were Huskies on the Ernestina (ex Effie Morrissey) on one of her trips?);
- Hear the story of Guerriere the Terrier who was aboard the USS Constitution
- Skippy's Adventure
Hear about the Schooner Adventure's dog, Skippy, who was often on board the vessel; and
- Live Music presented by Livin' on Luck.
For those who just want to wander and hang out,
there will be all kinds of activities for kids and dogs.

When hunger strikes, pick up some food from our Salty Dog Galley
If that weren't enough, there will an opening reception at the end of the afternoon for the Museum's new exhibit: Salty Dogs: A Maritime Legacy.
