Hello: I have begun a petition (over 40 names so far) to have
Somerville Junction Park designated an OLRA. Looking for advice on
approaching the Alderman on making the change. Not looking for an OLRA
like the litter boxes on Summer St. etc, but simply completing the
fencing already there for proper containment. More like what Brookline
has with their GreenDog program. Any suggestions? For more info about
Somerville Junction Park and the petition email or call :Damian

Amy:

Thanks for your response. At this time the petition is not on-line although now you have me rethinking that. Otherwise, some place I can come by and get your signature on the old fashioned hard copy?

There are some great online sites where you can make a free one...I expect they work as well as a paper version though I don't have much experience in using them.  I have a small dog-walking/dog-exercising business and have some clients who'd like to sign the petition too, so perhaps you could have both the paper copy and an online version?  If not, perhaps a coffee hour where a bunch of people interested could come and meet you at Bloc 11 or something and sign??  I'm guessing others on the Somerville Dog group know more about the likelihood of changing that space into an ORLA or how to approach this?  Any suggestions anyone?
