Hi all -- Sadly our dog walker will no longer be able to help us with our two dogs Y(orkies el Nino and Stella Star.) We are now looking for a new dog walker to start around the New Year.

Just a bit of info about what we are looking for, in the event it impacts the recommendation -- the ideal timing is around 1:00 or 2:00pm for 30-45 minutes, Monday - Thursday. By and large the "dog walker" responsibilities are to let them out, play with them for exercise (either inside or in our backyard) or sometimes (especially if weather permits), take them for a walk. Unfortunately, due to their size, dog park outings are not good situations although we would consider other types of group "dog walking" such as over to Fresh Pond.

Any suggestions appreciated! We would prefer someone with dog walking experience who can provide references. Any dog training experiences would be a huge plus!

I always recommend Scott Parisi (BestInShowBoston.com). I’m not sure
how full-up his schedule is these days. He does both dog-park outings
*and* individualized walkings, plus he’s a great dog-sitter. He’s
exceptionally conscientious and responsible.

Though this may not be the best recommendation for your situation, but
I will add it to this thread in the event later down the road, there
is someone else looking for a great dog walker . I highly recommend
Yaron and Pat with On the Run (http://ontherunboston.com/). They are
always at the local parks with the dogs, and engage with all of their
charges until they are all tired. I can't recommend them highly enough
for high energy dogs that enjoy the dog park.

I'm not sure about the specifics for your situation, but I have had a
great experience with our dogwalker, Mike at Happy Dog (http://
happydogonline.com/). He's taken care of our dog for weeks at a time,
helps us out by giving her any medicines she's taking, and she is
always thrilled to see him.

I'm sure all these options are great, but I'll add my own. Somerville
Critter Care. (http://sites.google.com/site/somervillecrittercare)
My dog Suki loves them and they will either walk your dog or bring
them to their own little playgroup at their house.
My dog is more likely to do her business on a walk, so they make sure
she gets both. I've recomended them to several friends and they are
all current clients and happy to be!

Good luck.
Bill
