Hi all, happy summer.

It's time for a midsummer hair cut for our two Yorkies. Sadly, our trusted and kind groomer Hilary (was at boston dog on beacon) moved out of town.

Our two little guys get really nervous and we hate to leave them for any unnecessary time, which with many groomers leaves them in crates for up to a couple hours between the various grooming steps. We were so lucky because Hilary would do just the two of them in about an hour.

Does anyone have experience with local groomers who cater to smaller dogs or groomers who don't follow the typical cycle where you dog is at their appointment for several hours?

Any input is appreciated.

Libby

She's hard to get into (because she is so good!), but if Alana is still at
Laundromutt at Alewife, I would speak with her and tell her your concerns.
There is a "Bark-o-lounger" at that location---a room for dogs to romp
around in. How it all works when there is a number of dogs, I don't know,
but it is worth checking them out.

Alana is no longer at Laundromutt.  She can be found at Zen Dog Training (http://zendogtraining.net)  Her email there is Lexingt...@gmail.com.

Best,
Lynne

There are two that my clients love and adore:

Brittany through Durty Harry's in Charlestown. She's on Main Street and is usually booked up because she's THAT good and just a sweetheart. But if you can get in, get in.

Pet Spa on Somerville Ave. My students love the work Theresa and her team do on their dogs, and I've had the pleasure of working with some of the members of her staff. They are all really nice. The dogs come out clean, happy, and looking great!

Well, for those of you know know Melissa McCMcG (or M3 as affectionately
nicknamed), you know she will be off on her maternity adventure soon so my
dog Nyla is looking for a dog walker.

We live between Inman and Union Squares near Lincoln Park and have a
typical 3 walk/week schedule. Group trips to the dog park are likely not
her preference but I am finding that many services operate this way. I
could be wrong- she could be very happy with that set up but tends to be
shy around new dogs.

Referrals welcome.

Cheers,
Amy Parker

Amy Campbell and Wags While You Work. Our dogs (two Yorkies) preferred individual walks and trips, but now enjoy group outings once they got to know the other dogs. Amy was amazing at helping us find a solution that worked for our needs.

my neighbor's dog, Chance got away... 1:30 on Thursday July 11th from Wyatt Street near Lincoln Park. No photo yet but he is a medium sized short haired mix, auburn/caramel colored. No markings- he's solid one color.

His ears don't stand all the way up but flop down at the top. I believe he was wearing his collar.

We filled out a Lost Dog report with 311 so if you see him, please either reply or call 311 (616-661-3311)

I am told he has been found! I am so happy for his owners and the pup. He was found a few hours later with the help of people on bikes, foot and a few people in cars. turns out he bolted and somehow found his way to his owner's work office in Union Sq!
Dog people rule- total strangers stepped out to help and it was really a great spirited situation, despite the circumstances.
