July dance and town meeting notes

Happy July!

Thanks to everyone who attended our June dance and town meeting. We're so glad you guys love the dances and want them to continue into the future!

For those who missed the dance, we discussed how to keep the dances going after Cori and Dean move this summer and after Greg and Kim move in a year or so. The Knights of Columbus of Holy Face Church would like to continue the dances, and volunteers from that organization will continue to help with access to the school, set up, and clean up.

Going forward, we do need help in these areas, so if you're interested in any of this, please email us at somdba...@gmail.com.

* Set up before the dances (only take 30 minutes or so)

* Running the music. There's a sound system in the gym that we can use.

* Teaching lessons. If we could get a list of folks who could rotate through the months, that would be great! Don't worry if you've never taught before. If you are comfortable dancing and know some steps the rest of us don't, you're the perfect candidate.

* Publicity. Cori currently sends an email announcement to the newspapers and local websites, updates the Facebook page, and manages the email list. We need someone who can take this over ASAP. She can give you all the contact information and access that you need.

Saturday, July 15

Lesson 7 p.m.

Dancing 8-11 p.m.

Location: Little Flower School, Route 5, Great Mills

Cost: $10 per person

Bring a snack to share; the Knights will provide water.

Our August dance will be on the SECOND Saturday, Aug. 12. Mark your calendars!
