The National WASH Cluster is pleased to announce the launching of a new technical working group – the “Minimum Standards and Guidance Technical Working Group.” The TWG will support the Ethiopia WASH Cluster to ensure that all cluster partners have the necessary information to ensure WASH response adheres to global and Ethiopia-specific standards to provide minimum services to affected population with dignity. The cluster has a long history of providing high-quality and appropriate guidance to partners, including WASH Minimum Standards (April 2020), WASH NFI Guidelines (September 2020), Point of Use Water Treatment Options (September 2016), and Water Trucking Guidelines (November 2015), among others. These guidelines have provided partners with standardized approaches to key activities to ensure effective program implementation across the country. However, given the changing context within Ethiopia, particularly around climate change and new technologies, many of these documents may not reflect the current priorities of WASH actors. There is a need to revise the documents, considering the latest global and Ethiopia-specific standards and guidelines, changing operating environments, and emerging priorities, such as climate change, disability and gender integration, and Accountability to Affected People. The detailed Terms of Reference for the TWG are attached.
Partners interested in joining the TWG are requested to submit their expression of interest at the following link no later than Tuesday, 17 December 2025 COB for consideration: https://forms.gle/RsePS2Xv4xgFREqy9. Please ensure you have reviewed the ToR and understand the required commitment prior to submitting the EoI.
Thanks in advance and we look forward to receiving your application for this very important TWG.
Sincerely,
Ethiopia WASH Cluster Team
