It's been on my list to investigate this as well, but I haven't had a chance yet, so I'm not certain of the answer. I'm copying the SolrMarc-tech mailing list into this reply in case somebody there already has an answer for you. If you don't get a response in a couple of days, please remind me and I'll do some deeper investigation of my own!

Also, out of curiosity, what error did you get when you tried to inject credentials into the URL?

Hello everyone,

I am looking into Solr Authentication and wanted to try out basic authentication. The Solr configuration seems to work fine. But I am not able to index documents with SolrMarc. I tried to inject the credentials in the URL (in the property file) but SolrMarc doesn't like that.
Any ideas? Is it maybe possible to do it with Global Auth Credentials?
Where would I configure the java properties?
(-Dsolr.httpclient.builder.factory=org.apache.solr.client.solrj.impl.PreemptiveBasicAuthClientBuilderFactory.
PreemptiveBasicAuthClientBuilderFactory and -Dbasicauth=username:password)
