Any Solomon Islands Indigenous Music Foundation members who would like to keep abreast of news of the Pacific Regional Connectivity Program -

It is encouraging to see that the PRCP think a submarine link will "increase frequency and quality of international communications among the connected countries, thus increase trade in services, i.e., tourism and back office functions." http://pid.adb.org/pid/LoanView.htm?projNo=44382&seqNo=01&typeCd=3#timetable

The implications are clearly significant for music communications which are increasingly shared digitally. For example one of the Solomon Islands most successful music exports, The Narasirato Panpipers the Internet to promote their material (via SoundCloud and FaceBook). This sort of strategy could be useful for other groups and individuals throughout the Solomon Islands if they had the secure, and efficient bandwidth which could be afforded upon acquisition of a submarine cable.
