Hope Over Fear – Transcript of the Internet Sensation is to be Published

Tommy Sheridan speech has had over 107,000 views on youtube

Transcript of the speech now available

The transcript of the speech given by Tommy Sheridan at a public meeting in Kirkcaldy on the 23rd January 2014 that went on to become an “internet sensation” is now available in pamphlet form. It is now most the most watched speech ever delivered on the subject of why you should vote Yes in the referendum on September 18th, 2014.

On the 23rd of January 2014 Tommy Sheridan was invited by local campaigners for Independence to make a speech in St Bryces Kirk in Kirkcaldy. The fact that Tommy was asked to speak in public is not unusual in of itself. During the past 18 months alone, Tommy has addressed almost 100 public meetings on the inequities, unfairness and cruelty of the Bedroom Tax. What made that speech on a cold January night in the Kingdom of Fife so unusual however was that thanks to the foresight of the organisers the event was filmed and posted on youtube. Within just a few short weeks the 38 minute video clip has become an internet sensation. At the time of writing the video has received over 107,000 views with number rising all the time. To put those figures in some sort of context then the Better Together Campaign posted a video on the frontpage of their official website back in June 2012 called, “Best of Both Worlds.” In the 22 months since the video has received less than 30,000 views.
