July 22, 2014 Share: Dear David, Imagine being locked in a cage or crate so small you couldn’t extend your arms and legs or even turn around. How long would it be before you felt cramped, frustrated and afraid? Hundreds of millions of pigs and billions of egg-laying hens spend their entire lives this way. Help us change that -- sign our "no cages" pledge! Extreme confinement is out of step with how people believe animals ought to be treated. Producers must adapt to come into line with mainstream values. States and countries are beginning to take a stand. Dozens of leading food retailers and egg and pork producers are adopting cage-free policies. But we still have work to do and we need your help. If enough consumers demand change, companies will listen. Won’t you join us, and millions of animal advocates worldwide, in saying “NO” to cruel confinement of farm animals?
