Mother Pelican
A Journal of Solidarity and Sustainability

Vol. 21, No. 10, October 2025

The End of "Business As Usual"?

We are not living in an era of change. What we are experiencing is the end of an era.
The patriarchal phase of human history is passing away, and we have to make a choice.
The choice is between solidarity and sustainability, or domination and self-destruction.
It is time for a cultural revolution, from patriarchal domination to sustainable solidarity.
Speak up. Practice nonviolence. Stop buying nonessential things. Protest peacefully.

PATRIARCHY is a deeply ingrained gender ideology
with nefarious social
and ecological repercussions.
There can be no integral human development, and no integral ecology,
as long as
patriarchy and
religious patriarchy
lurk in the collective unconscious.

For 1.4B Catholics,
1 November 2025
will mark the
75th Anniversary
of the dogma of the
ASSUMPTION
of Mary of Nazareth.
This would be a good
time to transcend
OT priestly patriarchy.
