The first time I ran the driver install program it took approx 5 minutes to complete. Now when I run the install program it finishes very quickly, approx 15 seconds. It prompts me to restart the computer, computer restarts, still no drivers appear in the Device Manager.

I am able to see the MPI adapter in the Device Manager. It shows up under "Other Devices>Simatic PC Adapter USB A2. When I look at the properties it displays "The Drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)."

I'll be carefully to install/uninstall some drivers, because some situation happened to me long time ago. What I only have need do was reinstall Step7, this only helped me, but this was my situation. Only one thing, there are installed drivers internaly in Step7, probably you don't need to install something else. Remember if you had that adapter in PG/PC interface before you've install that drivers from CD?

try a repair-installation of Step 7, or better install SP4. Run the setup as Admin, with right-click on Setup.exe -> Run as Administrator. Only Login as Admin is not enough. Deactivate your anti-virus-scan while installation.

I cannot get my 6ES7972-0CB20-0XA0 to work. I have downloaded drivers and tried installed. Still not working.
All I see is this:
Online: The local MPI address for the programming device/PC is higher than the maximum device address or the wrong transmission rate or wrong interrupt is set.
I ma running windows 10.
HELP

There are several situations where this problem occurs:
The MPI address setting conflicts with the MPI address of other devices
The MPI communication rate is set incorrectly
PG/PC settings are incorrect

I have bought your 6GK1 571-0BA00-0AA0 PC ADAPTER USB A2, and installed drivers from the internet, and it shows in device manager as usb pc adapter but when I try to connect to PLC s7-200 with simatic step7 v4.0 i cant conect because it requires to set com port in pg pc , but I only have usb .

Better to buy an original Siemens MPI adapter. My amsamotion mpi adapter will stop during copying of blocks(if copying over a thousand blocks), the mpi led will go off, I need to unplug and re-plug it to work again.

I would like to renew the problem PC Adapter USB has not been solved so far and also appears in the latest version of VirtualBox 4.1.0 . Symptoms are the same as in the description "Ticket #7129. " does not finish Windows install the driver. Problem występuje jedynie w wersji VirtualBox dla Linuxa.

I'm running WinXP on a Linux Mint (Ubuntu) host. Once connected, VBox recognizes the adapter with it's name (SIMATIC USB Adapter) in the right bottom menu including all USB devices. Activating it, WinXP recognizes the adapter, starts to ask questions for the driver and finally finds the previously installed one. But the driver installation progress never ends.
