I have just stumbled upon your groups, after a passing mention by, IIRC,
Diane Hollingdale ( AKA Gremlin?). (BTW, Diane, if you're reading this,
sorry....I didn't mean any offence :-))
I live in the Solent area, and have been on the Net for a couple of
years, but this is the first I have heard of these groups. Having
subscribed to most of them, (but not the sport one :-)), there appears
to be little traffic.
So, in response to Phil Dyes post on removal of most of these groups,
and the subsequent concentration of posts in the remaining groups,I
would like to express my agreement with his proposals.
I would go further, in saying that I believe the way forward for these
local groups, is to come under the hierarchy of uk.local.?????, thus
ensuring wide propagation and knowledge of the group(s), and the
subsequent increase in traffic in the group(s).
I reiterate that I am a newcomer to these groups, but I would like to
see a debate on these issues before any action is taken.

and has only just found these newsgroups,
How many other users are there out there like this ?? my guess is 3,483 :o)
