If you haven't heard, SOLE is now an official BALLE network! Feel free to browse their website. Bob Leighty of ECDI, Bob and Marilyn Welker, and I will be attending the national conference June 14-17 in Bellingham Washington. Oron Benary and Sarah Jones of Brothers Drake want to go but may have to stay here and make mead, the drink of the gods!
Some of us are meeting today at 5 pm at Brothers Drake, 26 E. 5th Ave, to work on plans for our booth at Comfest! We plan to launch our Think Columbus First campaign at Comfest June 24-25-26 along with a corresponding website. We're working on a logo and a plan to sell $2 bills with a stamp that encourages everyone to spend the $2 bill locally. We're giving away a nickel with each $2 bill to symbolize the "Instant Return on Investment" when we purchase goods and services from locally owned businesses. Stop by and join us if you happen to get this, or come and enjoy some honey wine!
Planning to go to Comfest? Sure you are! We need you to volunteer a couple of hours at our booth - you won't be alone, and you will get all the latest info about our BALLE chapter and help spread the buzz about our Think Columbus First campaign! Email me with your time slot preferences and soon we will throw up a google doc so you can sign up on your own. Get 1st dibs now!
We will be providing more update this summer and more information on the business owners who are participating in the SOLE steering committee. Stay tuned!
Enjoy the lack of rain for a spell, and less humidity.
