Hello Steering Committee,
I don't have notes yet from our meeting at ECDI on Tuesday but we agreed to go ahead and submit our application to be the only BALLE network in Ohio. A pdf version of the draft is attached, and it will be very close to the final version submitted.
I had referenced a recent article in USA Today on Job Creation Investments in Ohio (thanks to Carol Daniels, who contributes to our marketing plans). I posted an excerpt and link to the full article on our website and I included a link to a contrasting TED talk by Michael Shuman, BALLE's R&D director. The USA Today article states that Ohio is making larger job creation investments than any other state - by far! If you have read or listened to Michael Shuman, you will know that his view of how to stimulate the local economy is very different.
I also posted a reference to an article on "crowd funding" for small business startups. There is much interest in this approach by BALLE, and I am sure that cuttingedgecapital.com (my source for learning about the article) will be represented at the BALLE conference in June.
Our next Steering Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 7pm at ECDI. We agreed to meet monthly on the 4th Tuesday. Mark your calendars.
A small ad hoc group will meet to work on the development of a logo and branding strategy next Thursday, May 5th at 6 pm at ECDI. You are welcome to join us.
I heard a rumor that the sun will reappear on Friday. Be well.
