Ubuntu version of scripts working

Hey folks,

I think I have the ubuntu version of the scripts working.

Would be good to confirm:

1. I haven't broken the scripts for the Mac

2. Someone else can reproduce in an Ubuntu environment (after running the new ubuntu install script I've added)
