So I am back but I have a meeting with my supervisor that will overlap with today's meeting unfortunately - my Masters project report is due on Monday.
In terms of updates, I only have a small code change to some of the logic around creating the estimates with the hindcast weather data.
As part of my project I was comparing the outputs of our methodology to SolarView - which isn't exactly 1:1 as SolarView provides numbers for sunlight received on a given panel tilt (the default being optimally related to latitude), whereas we're measuring using whatever the roof's angle is. I believe this means for flat roofs we would actually underestimate in winter (and overestimate in summer, which is maybe less important) due to sun angles. Not to mention people don't tend to install flat panels (i.e. zero tilt).
Just some food for thought, don't really have a technical solution in mind!
