Good news on Net Metering

The Mass. Senate passed S2214, the bill that raises the net metering cap, today.

The Mass House is expected to pass it today as well.

Gov. Patrick will sign it.

 

The conference committee removed the provisions related to taxation of municipal systems. The impact of this is that towns will continue to have the ability to negotiate payments in lieu of taxes for each project. This was what many municipalities wanted.

 

Thanks to those of you that contacted legislators on this bill. It worked.
