I attempted to recreate a HMV vehicle from the TRO text into SAW. The vehicle has 4 tons of FF armour.
This equates to 72 armour points, which was distributed: 26 front, 17 per side, 12 rear. However, SAW will only allow 71 points and adding an additional point will push the armour tonnage to 4.5 tons. I have attached the data file for your reference.

Not an error.
Since TechManual FF is always rounded down, instead of left unclear and open for interpretation as it was under Master Rules Revised. So 4t FF armor equals 71.68 points, rounded down to 71 points.

4 tons is also the example used in TM.
"[...] 4 tons of Inner Sphere ferro-fi brous armor would receive 71 armor points (4 tons x 16 points per ton x 1.12 = 71.68 armor points, rounded down to 71) [...]"

Ah! Thank you for the clarification.
It seems I must catch up on a few rules. :)
