Special Announcement - IPDTC: Please share broadly
Greetings! Hope this finds you well. I wanted to share this with you and ask if you can send it out also through your networks and share within your organisation / agency / ministry.
We've just begun sending out information on our next major international training programme for experts, practitioners and policy makers in the field. The course 'Designing Peacebuilding Programmes: Improving Sustainability, Impact and Effectiveness of Peacebuilding and Peace Support Operations' will run from November 26 - 30. (Full outline: http://www.patrir.ro/images/stories/IPDTC/Training_outlines/dpp%20-%20november%202012.pdf )
Many agencies, governments and UN Missions send teams of 3 - 5 participants for the programme. It's one of the most advanced and rigorous in the field on designing programmes for peacebuilding, conflict transformation, post-war recovery and peace consolidation, peacekeeping, violence prevention, and mediation and dialogue processes.
One aspect which makes this programme unique and highly valuable for those taking part, is that it is not simply theoretical but takes participants and their organisations/agencies through a practical process on the exact work and programmes they're doing - helping them to dramatically improve their quality, design and implementation. If you're interested, you can read reviews from past participants at:

Below is the full announcement. Please share it through your networks and with colleagues. Warm greetings and best wishes! Kai
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
DESIGNING PEACEBUILDING PROGRAMMES
http://www.patrir.ro/images/stories/IPDTC/Training_outlines/dpp%20-%20november%202012.pdf
We are glad to share with you the announcement of IPDTC’s next Advanced Certificate Program in Designing Peacebuilding Programmes: Improving Sustainability, Impact and Effectiveness in Peacebuilding & Peace Support Operations (DPP). Advanced Certificate Programs are designed for experienced practitioners and middle to senior level policy and decision makers. Participants include UN staff, government officials and political representatives, donors, military, and staff of national and international aid, development, and peacebuilding organisations. Programs are in-depth and custom-designed for participants’ specific needs and contexts.
Designing Peacebuilding Programmes helps agencies, organisations and practitioners working in conflict, crisis and post-war stabilization and recovery to improve the quality, effectiveness and sustainable impact of their programs – including crisis management and prevention, peacebuilding, social, economic and political stabilization, reconciliation in divided communities, and post-war recovery, rehabilitation and development. Drawing on more than 30 years experience in 40 countries, the program represents the most advanced of its kind for policy makers, practitioners, government officials and donors internationally.
Designing Peacebuilding Programmes is an in-depth operational training in program development, design, planning and implementation, drawing comprehensively on best-practice approaches from the fields of peacebuilding, development and humanitarian aid, and post-war recovery, as well as methods and approaches for strategic planning and program and organisational development. Incorporating the work of the OECD-DAC and lessons learned and approaches from national and international agencies, the ISI provides organizations and participants with methods to significantly improve the quality, relevance, and impact of their programs. Most importantly: participants engage with their actual programs and operations and use the framework of Designing Peacebuilding Programmes to learn leading methodologies in the field while improving actual work in practice.
The DPP programme will be held at IPDTC's Global Academy in Romania, Cluj-Napoca, in November 26-30, 2012.
