Installation of 100 KVA solar power plant, Bhopal Airport

Dear All,

I have one query.

Is that compulsory to take Chief Electrical Inspectors Approval to Install up to 100kW Solar off grid power plant for captive consumption.?

Or it is ok with any "A" class Licence Electrical contractor's approval/certification.

As far as I know for any electrical installation, electrical inspector’s inspection and approval is required.

Today I have contacted an Executive Engineer in MPUVNL & he told me not to take any kind of approvals, just certify your project drawings/test certificates/field test reports from any "A" class Electrical contractor & charge your Plant. In MV installation there is no need to take CEI approvals, any "A" class Electrical contractors certification will work. CEI approval is compulsory only for HV/EHV installation. 

& my project comes in MV installation.

I have also got an appointment from Chief Electrical Inspector, Bhopal. Now let see what he is suggesting tomorrow.
