Sr. PV System Design Engineer
The Senior PV System Design Engineer will drive the company’s
differentiated solutions in the photovoltaic space. We seek a solar
systems design innovator who can translate unique technology into game
changing solutions. The ideal candidate will rely on prior experience
in the design of solar systems that are unique in capability and
value. The Senior PV System Design Engineer will apply their solar
expertise to new system designs and collaborate with the design and
process engineering teams to ensure all features are incorporated to
the industry’s highest standards. In addition, the candidate will have
a successful track record of impacting across multiple organizational
lines – Finance, Marketing, Project Management, Engineering and
Manufacturing Operations.
Key Position Deliverables
•Understand the UL and IEC certification requirements and drive the
certification process
•Drive large-scale, differentiated system designs from conception to
installation
•Evaluate and recommend system designs providing optimum aesthetic,
performance and price in accordance with customer goals and
expectations
•Liaise and coordinate with the CTO and engineering team for project
planning and integration
•Apply intimate knowledge of industry standards, especially UL and IEC
requirements, to successful system designs
•Systems must be designed to meet specific cost-per-installed-watt
metrics
•Work closely with internal customers in Sales and Marketing to
develop system solutions addressing specific market segments
Education & Experience
•Minimum of 3 years of PV system design experience
•Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC, NFPA 70), NERC
standards, FERC regulations, plus UL and IEC certification process
•Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering,
architectural design, or computer science, or an equivalent level of
education and experience
•NABCEP Certification a plus
•Hands on experience in the field with solar system design and
installation
•Strong knowledge of system and CAD software quality assurance, best
practices and methodologies
•Knowledge of architectural drafting standards, as well as blueprint
and specification reading skills
•Exceptional technical translation skills
•Experience in the following system designs will be a strong plus –

Electrical Schematics
One-Line Diagrams
Balance of System wall plans / elevations
Structural and Attachment Details
Roof Mounted Systems
Self-Ballasted Systems
Pole Mounted Systems
Ground Mounted Systems
