Netcraft's "What is that site running?" page (http://www.netcraft.com/whats/)
reports the following:

www.openbsd.org

www.openbsd.org is running Apache/1.3.11 (Unix) PHP/3.0.14 mod_perl/1.21 on Solaris

Shouldn't this be running on OpenBSD somewhere <grin> ??? 'Twould be ironic
indeed were www.openbsd.org to be hacked because it's not running on openbsd.

This has already been discussed before, look in the archives.

When Sun gives you a free box, you run the OS that comes with it.

I think that is this gist of it.

www.openbsd.org == openbsd.sunsite.ualberta.ca

"SunSITE" = SUN gives you a bunch of hardware, you run it as-is. There
are several SunSITEs around the world now, one of which is still the
major Linux software repository.

Theo has stated that either can't or doesn't want to host the primary
sites from his basement - imagine his telecom bill?!

So, Bob Beck, et al. at UAlberta run a few mirrors of various OpenBSD
bits and pieces. (BTW: Thanks, guys.) On Sun hardware running Solaris.

I think there's some synergy there. OpenBSD (and Linux, and NetBSD,
and...) running on Sparc is a good thing for Sun - it shows that you
_can_ get a reasonably nimble, reasonably secure OS running on Sun
hardware after all!
