About halt at single user

Hi

Only curiosity, but, why halt/reboot at single user runlevel
(-s at boot) goes first to multiuser (loading net and all rc stuff)
and then reboots ? (I mean with 'why' the purpose of that, not the
technical reason that I assume can be the dead of the single user shell)

It sounds like you improperly upgraded 2.5 to 2.6. If you do this
without updating the /etc/rc scripts, you run into trouble.

Yes, I forgot to upgrade /etc/rc (duh!), all the rest was upgraded. Now, it
really halts.
