After poking around the motorola and apple sites I found three
documents (and some errata) that seemed worth downloading.
AltiVec Technology Programming Interface Manual
AltiVec Technology Programming Environments Manual
AltiVec Support in MrC[pp]
I don't remember where I got them, but the first one says you can get
it at http://www.mot.com/SPS/PowerPC/.
Signature failed Preliminary Design Review.
Feasibility of a new signature is currently being evaluated.
