Installing NetBSD on an actual I386 based Laptop

On one occasion, I installed NetBSD on a laptop by via a nullmodem. (I
think that a SLIP connection is a little easier to set up than is a PPP
connection. But, one or both may require some experimentation, and both
require a nullmodem.)

The ethernet that people have suggested would, of course, be faster.
(But, depending on what hardware you already have, and what you intend to
eventually buy, ethernet may cost a bit more to set up.)
