A local surplus store has a bunch of Intel ISA nics which were described
as being marked 'Intel Pro 4041'. I haven't seen the cards yet, and on
hunting through supported cards I'm not sure if it fits any description.

Is this card supported (on 2.2.6 and/or 3.3)? If so, which driver? Any
issues? Any good?

Thanks, Ian

I'm not sure about Intel and their product numbers (being totally and
completely enamored by SMC's network hardware myself), but, I'd imagine that
if they're Ethernet and not Token Ring, the standard NE2000 driver would
work. It seems to work for just about anything "generic"...

Sorry folks, you can all stop looking now :-)

Turns out they're EtherExpress Pro/10 ISA cards (Intel part PCLA8215A)
which I'll assume are most likely ok, unleses someone says otherwise?

That 'Pro 4041' moniker appears only on their endplates, and of course
is nowhere on Intel's site. Maybe it's the endplate's part no? <shrug>

From my experience with Intel networking hardware, those are good cards,
and there should be a driver available for them.

Yep, building a kernel with the ex driver tonight, installing the card
and new LAN segment tomorrow. Will sing out if it _doesn't_ work :)

Thanks Andy,

Cheers, Ian

The cards aren't too daffy but the driver is a little raw around the
edges.

Any specific problems? Was the ex driver at 2.2.6 and 3.3 any worse?
The new segment's been put off for a few days anyway, so there's still
time to whack in a spare ne2000 clone if it's not such a great idea ..
fwiw there's a couple more Pro/10 cards in the 'dozeboxen it's feeding.
