Hi, is it possible to completely turn off nfsiod as suggested by the
manpage? I've tried nfsiod -n 0, but it corrects me and runs a single
1. The reason why is that I've found that I have better performance
with less nfsio daemons running. Killing the nfsiod processes just
respawns them. This is on 5.2.1 CS20/alpha.

Apparently so. If you tried killing them while they were actually in use,
they may have respawned, but killing them when they are not in use will
cause them to no longer run. Though it is not apparent to you yet, it
maybe be configurable to have no nfsiod run at boot. Keep reading the
man pages.
