problems with compaq-cc

Hello,
the compaq-cc on Alpha worked fine until 4.9 release.
with 4.10 and with 5.X release when installing compaq-cc from ports
machine hangs during installation of

glibc-2.2.4-32.1.alpha.rpm

I Also heard other people having the same problem.
anyone knows where the port is broken ?
is it a problem with the linux kernel module ?
