Hi all,

this is to inform you that after more than a thousand changes and 28 alpha releases, SoL 3
finally entered its beta phase: I do not plan to introduce any new feature until the final 3.0
version, just fix remaining issues, as all requested enhancements have been implemented.

The roadmap to the final 3.0 version is the following:

1. cleanup tests and samples tournaments in the current database

2. migrate missing tournaments present on the old version 2 site to the version 3 site

3. change the "admin" password, activating personal accounts to interested people (do not
hesitate to ask for one!)

4. after a short period of test and maybe a couple of betas, release version 3.0 final and
upgrade the official SoL site at http://sol.metapensiero.it/ to version 3, keeping
http://sol3.arstecnica.it/ as a demo only site

I will keep posting announcements on the dedicated mailing list, so you are invited to join it
if you'd like to follow the progress, in particular if you plan to install the software on your
own machine.

Interesting links:

* full interface: http://sol3.arstecnica.it/
* revamped "light" interface: http://sol3.arstecnica.it/lit/

* mailing list archive: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/sol-users
* issues tracker: https://bitbucket.org/lele/sol/issues

As always, I'd like to hear opinions and hints. Also, do not hesitate to contact me either
directly or thru the mailing list if you need assistance.

Last, I would like to thank all the people that helped me with their suggestions and
encouragements!

Thank you and happy carroming!

ciao, lele.

Perfetto. Sai dirmi chi c'e sulla mailing list? Tipo Nazrul il capo della fed europea e joseph meyer?
Se no magari la inoltro.
Grazie

Brillian, I'd say :-) https://bitbucket.org/lele/sol/issue/11/new-ideas-for-the-clock

Thanks and, by the way, fill free to use that issue tracker, either for
suggestions or for troubles :-)

As I understand it (the Glicko2 system, that is) 1500 is the entry level
rate, so even a very weak player, after a few tourneys, gets a rating
above 1500, around 2000 are regular players, more than that, good
players. The trend is determined also by with *who* you won by 10 score,
that is, you you won by that amount against a week player instead of a
moderately stronger than you other player.

You may already know, but you can control that value on the rating
details window.

ciao, lele.

PS: I didn't check, but you did assign the final prizes of the tourney,
so that the rating has been recomputed, didn't you?
