Many of the systems on my network have the options to print to 11 x 17 paper. Unfortunately these were setup by the copier technician who installed the system and when I contact him about it he seems much more interested in scheduling another service call than actually telling me the process to set things up properly. The install was completed before I was hired.

After driver is loaded; open the printer properties page, goto Device Settings tab and uncheck Set User Id, tap get device status button and after box stating got device status appears (press ok) tap Apply button at bottom.

The free Xerox Global Print Driver manages Xerox and non-Xerox printers on your network with a single, easy-to-use interface. It dramatically simplifies enterprise printer management for IT managers, making it easy to add and update printers without changing drivers.

Downloads and installs the Xerox Desktop Print Experience application. This application extends the feature set available on the Xerox V4 Print Drivers, exposing features such as accounting, secure printing, color adjustments, booklet creation, advanced finishing options, etc, and is required for full feature print functionality for the V4 Print Drivers.

now you have the driver installed and you can use printui if you want because driver is already on the system so it doesn't really matter if you use the /u parameter because it will use the one installed.

do you happen to have any suggestions for silent installing the scanner drivers/software for a MF printer? i've dug around in the .msi files with Orca, and tried to find silent flags buried in the .exe files, but so far no luck. i never expected so much trouble

by the way, for some strange reason admins are blocking my email. if you want to contact me use my username and add the most common domain for mails in the world and you got it.

canon got a strange concept of community: not giving answers, blocking communication between users, relying you to enterprise-only support...

When I am using below given script to install Canon Generic Plus PCL6 driver, I am getting error message "Unable to add printer driver Canon Generic Plus PCL6 Win32 error code 87" . Also if you can help me out to deploy this driver via Intune (Win32). Please give the response

I have an hp envy 7640 that when the drivers that are installed will only seem to install fax drivers, when i try to see if its just a default printer issue there is no other printer i can select, The scanner works fine and the software and drivers appear to install fine but when i go to print it just sends me to Send Fax program.

If i try to manually install the drivers through device manager i get an error saying "the printer driver is not compatible with a policy enabled on your computer that blocks Windows NT 4.0 drivers. If you want to use this driver, contact your system administrator about disabling this policy."

Just wanted to say I figured out the issue, I ended up having to go into C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers and delete everything in the W32X86 and X64 folders then remove the printer from devices and printers. I restarted the computer then ran hp installer again and the printer installed correctly and was able to print.

I have a serious problem that have presented itself out of the blue.
When trying to change paper size for print I can change it in printer control panel by clicking Print Settings button, however, after applying changes and going back to Photoshop print window, size stays the same and my image shows cropped. Changing layout between vertical and horizontal also does nothing, picture won't even budge. It's like Photoshop refuses to talk with printer altogether, even though rest of computer seems to get along just fine with it
I haven't used this printer in a while, but it worked fine before with PS CC.
I've established it prints fine from HP Instant Print app for example, but I don't get the same degree of control over color there as I do in Photoshop.
I have a different printer capable of printing in sizes up to 11x17 (Canon iR5235ADV) and PS changes print area size for this one just fine.

Edit:
Now I've found out that after switching to Canon printer to see if sizes will scale, when going back and selecting T790 from printer list and clicking Print Settings PS will bring up Canon ir5235 print setting window. I am at loss for words....

Sorry, should mention.
Already tried that. Uninstalled the drivers, completely removed the printer from Devices. Re-installed.
Also tried different USB ports.
Just downloaded trial of CS5. Will see if that will help. Would not be surprised if it prints normally. CC seems to be a heap of trouble. Specialized at giving grief on regular basis.

Well it's not like I used some outside options. I click Print Settings IN photoshop.
Other applications still print. I tried that spacebar thing though to reset print settings. Yeah made it even worse, now still stuck at letter size and every time I click on Print settings it gives me dialogue for Canon printer.
Rest of this tutorial does not address any of my problems.

CAUTION: There are ordinary forum members who pose as Adobe Support Employees to trick you via Private Message or Skype into revealing your login details or other private information. Do not respond and report them.

Also, I cannot contact Adobe, only gives me option to go to forums, not to mention that in help centre I don't even have the option to select help with Photoshop, only Illustrator, which I don't own...

I have purchased Composer, but we do not own the Casper Suite. We're using OS X Server / Deploy Studio for all deployments at the moment. In previous environments where we've had Casper, I would just use Casper Admin to create printer policies. However, I'm now limited to just Composer.

Greetings!
I am trying to create a printer package with Composer. I'm with a university, but not with central IT, so I don't have access to Caspar Admin....I do have access to Composer 9.x. I am on OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, using the Canon ImageRunner 4051 package.

What I've done was the following:
1. Opened up the Canon driver package to install; leaving the window with the "install" button in that state.
2. Launched Composer and started a normal snapshot.
3. Click on the "Install" button to install the driver and PPD files.
4. Completed the snapshot.
5. Created a new script with the above info from jonnydford, and then complied it.
6. Once done, I then created the package.

...multiple times but, even though everything looks okay on the Printer and Scanner preference pane, no matter what application/browser from which I try to print I get immediately an "Error" on the printer list for this printer and the message "Missing USB class driver" on the printer app.

From those of you who have contacted Canon Support and received the advice "sit tight -- a new driver is coming," does it seem this is the issue with which they are troubleshooting ... or is this something else in my system?

I am having the same issue. I am unable to add our Canon I-Adv 6065 printer to my computer. I have followed these instructions deleting all Canon Printer Drivers, emptying the trash, and then resetting the mac printer system. I have downloaded the new driver for Big Sur from Canon but am unable to install it.

Since I was unable to install the driver from the files Canon gave me so I manually copied the ppd.gz file into the PPD folder but my computer is unable to discover the printer on our network even though it can connect and set up other printers on the same network and I can access the Printer's webpage through it's IP address. Other people in the office are able to connect and print to it just fine it's a problem with my computer.

Same issue: I downloaded a new printer driver from Canon but cannot instal it. A message appears: "Cannot install on this version of the operating system you are using." and "Run the installer on a version that supports it.

Sorry, I see no point in removing all Canon software, nor in resetting the printer system. The comp is brand new. Adding a printer will not be a problem if I could install the new driver. Yet I cannot run the installer app to install the driver.

Same issue here on MacBook Pro M1 on 11.0.1. Big Sur Drivers listed on the Canon site for the ir_ADV C5235 will not load, receive an error that the version is incorrect for my operating system. Attempted to add the printer via IP address and received various errors but it appeared online as available, but it crashes with an error when sending a print job. Reset the print system more than once with no affect. Appears that the supplied drivers are not compatible after all.

Odd thing is that when downloading the drivers from Canon, it defaults to macOS Catalina 10.14 as the "Detected" OS version, which is wrong. Wonder if there is some mismatch both in the website and the driver detection software.
