I'm don't know what came over me; I saw the 'activate windows' watermark for the first time in years, which was extremely odd because I knew for a fact that I had upgraded to windows 10 from the most legitimate copy of windows 8 anyone could get their hands on (it was a gift from a family member whom at the time worked as a software engineer for microsoft).
I'm not sure what happened exactly with my key, but I did use KMS for office and the like, so maybe the recent update from defender also removed my licence key for windows along with it, or KMS might just overwrite it. Whatever.
I currently have windows 10 pre activated but I dont want to install windows 11 as an update, I wuant to do a clean install but therefore I will lose the activation right? I searched the megathread for the best win11 activator but didnt get a solid answer.
We are investigating rolling out Windows 10 to our Network this year. we have 3 physical machines set up and a virtual machine. We are now testing our software to ensure it all works but Office does not seem to activate through our KMS server. Its the same office package on our Windows 7 machines which is all activated ok. When we try to activate by command line or by the server it tells us the following:
Thanks for your message, by Default our client Firewalls are off through GP. It is weird, before we could get office to activate but not Win10. Updated our KMS Host key to allow for activations of Windows 10 now Windows activates but office won't it is really strange.
It was showing all our licenses for office as being unlicensed. Running the command lines to insert the key and activate the product. I then turned on 5 Win10 clients with office 2013 installed and this has now began to license our software.
This was an indication to MS that there were some "junk files" (their words) left behind after attempting to uninstall the office suite. The representative said that there were also some keys in the registry that were left behind for them to clean up as well. After MS cleaned up the registry and the installation directory, they proceeded with a fresh install. Once the install was complete, I was able to activate Office 2013 Home & Business - permanently.
That's not a Virus. That is the Scheduled service to run every time you log in to your windows to keep your windows and Microsoft Office programs suit's licenses activated. the service is made by programs like kmspico, KMSnano or KMSauto.net. if you're willing to stop using those programs you can go to "program files" folder in your C drive to remove them. hope that helps.
