Obelisk appears in Vermont
MIND-EXPANDING BEACON SHOWS UP FOLLOWING NIGHT OF REVELRY
January 1, 2021 – THETFORD, Vermont – Soil4Climate claimed today that, to strains of Richard Strauss’ “Also sprach Zarathustra,” a mysterious obelisk briefly materialized at daybreak this morning on the grounds of its world headquarters. It apparently heralded the dawn of a new era of land management.
The obelisk, wedged firmly into frozen ground, seemed to be intraterrestrial in origin. It bore striking dissimilarity to the monolith that allegedly appeared on the African plains some two million years ago, as recorded in Stanley Kubrick’s psychedelic documentary, “2001: A Space Odyssey.”
As near as can be told, obelisks stimulate human evolution and ingenuity.
“This obviously marks the beginning of something big, Big, BIG,” exclaimed Soil4Climate’s chief rabble-rouser and hat-shipper Seth Itzkan. “What, exactly, we can’t say for sure. But we’ll make something up!”
Soil4Climate’s chagrined bottle-washer and grassfed burger-flipper, Karl Thidemann, was unavailable for comment. He did, however, claim a photo credit for the image, emphasizing that Seth was not standing behind the piece of scrap metal holding it upright.
Soil4Climate, a U.S.-based nonprofit, nongovernmental organization, advocates for soil restoration as a climate solution. It promotes regenerative cropping and grazing practices to boost soil fertility, increase water and food security, restore wildlife habitat, replenish dried-up lakes and rivers, revitalize farming and pastoral communities, improve international relations, and sequester atmospheric carbon.
