About our guest:
 

Charlene Carr is a member of the village of Laguna Pueblo, NM; born of the parrot clan and for the water clan. Her education background is in soil science from NMSU and she serves New Mexico with 8 years of tribal agricultural outreach service.

 

Charlene currently is the Program Coordinator for the Indian Resources Development – NMSU to provide educational and professional development opportunities for NM Native American students and supports NM tribes in developing their agriculture, natural resources, engineering, and business endeavors.

NMDA Healthy Soil Program Webinar 
Friday May 21, 1:30 to 3pm MT

The New Mexico Department of Agriculture’s Healthy Soil Program will host a webinar to show potential applicants the steps to take to be considered for a grant. The grants fund on-the-ground projects to improve soil health in the state. Eligible Entity leaders and representatives – as well as farmers and ranchers– are invited to join the webinar. As defined in the 2019 Healthy Soil Act, Eligible Entities include tribes, nations and pueblos; land grants and acequias; Soil and Water Conservation Districts; and New Mexico State University’s Cooperative Extension Service.
