Dear Soil Friends,
Today (June 15, 2025) marks the tenth year birthday of
Soil4Climate. We
began with an idea, and then a name (thank you Karl Thidemann!), and have since become a voice for soil advocacy recognized around the world.
We took form on June 15, 2015, when the Soil4Climate Facebook group was created. Today, we are a community of 35K+ members comprising scientists, practitioners, policy activists, and lay people. The common theme is soil restoration as a climate, food, water, and social welfare solution. Currently, the group receives approximately 200 posts and 650 comments per month. In the last 28 days, 38,664 people saw group content. Topics range from fungal networks, to changing weather, to regenerative grazing.
🙏🏼 You are all to thank for this success. Thank you. 🙏🏼
What I am most proud of in our ten year legacy, is our work enabling regenerative grazing and cropping in East Africa. We are making a difference where it is needed most. Thank you all who donated to or who continue to support the effort. You are heroes and heroines.
🍀🐄 💦
To mark the occasion, and if you haven't already, please consider doing the following:
- Propel Change: contribute to and share our Skin of the Earth fundraiser. This is for regenerative agriculture in East Africa. Here, we are working with Maasai herders in Kenya and Tanzania, and with others in East Africa who are enhancing soil biology while improving food security.
- Expand Knowledge: refer people to our Hope Below Our Feet science compendium. This is our annotated collection of peer-reviewed papers on the soil and climate benefits of well-managed grazing. Exciting science is being published. You can help elevate it.
- Amplify Voices: share your own ideas about soil as a climate solution. What are your thoughts about it? Let the world know. All voices matter, especially yours. Together, we become a chorus of change. Also, please, kindly consider sharing comments about the Soil4Climate. Your words keep our hearts beating.
This will be a significant year for us, and we look forward to being part of your adventure creating a better world.
Thank you, again! Yebo!
- Seth
